Chocolate Hummus is the perfect sweet, healthy snack and you won't believe how delicious it tastes with fruit, pretzels, and more.

Chocolate Brownie Hummus is surprisingly delicious and no one will guess it is made with beans! It's a favorite in our house along with this Black Bean Hummus.

Chocolate and chickpeas! Before you immediately call me crazy, please give it a chance because it is a shockingly good and healthy dessert and snack option. Kids go crazy for it and it's actually good for you.

While I would love to take credit for this genius idea, the first time I saw it was on Shark Tank and since then I have seen all kinds of dessert hummus recipes popping up. Like most, I was skeptical, but finally caved and tried it after a friend told me her kids were obsessed with it and she felt like she was winning in the Mom department. I mean getting your kids to eat loads of fruit and chocolate flavored chickpeas is a pretty successful afternoon snack.

When looking for recipe inspiration, I started with some of the grocery store options but found they were packed with sugar, so I quickly turned to the internet for some Chocolate Hummus inspiration. The basic recipe, which I am sharing today, is essentially just chickpeas, cocoa powder, sweetener, and almond milk. The fun comes in when you think about all the ways you can customize it. Think chocolate chips, tahini, coconut, nut butter, cinnamon, and more. I will be sharing all kinds of ideas below, so don't miss it.

What do you eat with brownie batter hummus?

There are so many different options for what to eat with chocolate hummus. Here are the things I usually serve alongside this hummus:

  • Fruit: This is the most obvious choice and honestly one of the most delicious. Serve it with strawberries, raspberries, bananas, apples, pears, or pineapple.
  • Crackers: This hummus is delicious with almost all crackers as long as they aren't overly savory. Try light butter crackers, rice crackers, almond crackers, or any slightly sweet crackers.
  • Toast: My kids love eating this hummus for breakfast with some toast strips that are perfect for dunking.
  • Cookies: Try graham crackers or cookie things alongside this hummus. These days there are lots of thin and crispy cookies that pair great with a dessert hummus.
  • Pita chips: If you can find cinnamon pita chips, they are delicious alongside this sweet hummus.
